Grammys in my District

 

 

Yesterday me and several other of my music companions went downtown to meet with our congress rep John Lewis staff to encourage them to reform the music law.

Today, music licensing is governed by a patchwork of laws that doesn’t reflect the evolving digital marketplace and results in creators receiving below-market compensation. It’s time to fix music licensing so that all music creators – songwriters, performers, and studio professionals are paid fairly for their work.

This is the first time I ever done something in the political realm like this. I was a little nervous but I learned a lot that day and speaking from an artist perspective every single artist need to be involved in this. We are working on the future of our sustainability.
