Worst Meeting Ever…

Disclaimer: Before I went to go to this meeting I prayed asking God to show me if this situation wasn’t for me. So I don’t feel comfortable making any assessment based on how I thought and how I felt about the person because there was such a supernatural aspect. So all I’m going to do is tell the story with 0 commentary.  

My friend hits me up, says she wants me to meet with her sister because her sister was working with someone that she thought I should meet. I go out to the club to meet with her sister that night.  It started off cool, just trying to catch a vibe showing her how to do some stuff on Instagram because she asked while we were watching someone perform live.

She says tell me about yourself so I know what to say when I introduce you to the manager she was working with. So I tell her and then she told me to text what I wanted her to say to him cause it was pretty loud in the venue. So I do. She asks me if I have any gum, I proceed to reach for my purse but realize that I don’t so I tell her I don’t. She reaches into her purse and hands me an Altoid. (This is only commented I’m going to make before I continue with this. Now I could have been a little tart cause I had just ate and haven’t yet replenished my mint box but I digress lol.)

After that she say’s there he is by the door. I was ok cool. 3 minutes later she say’s well aren’t you gonna introduce yourself to him he’s standing by the door. ….Befuddled, I said ok… Then she says just tell him was too lazy to get up and introduce you.

 

So I get up and do my thing cause that’s what I do. I hand him my phone and she immediately gets up and starts hovering over him as he puts his information into my phone. She utters some side comments.

 

She sits down at near table while I’m kinda still confused but kinda scrolling through my phone at this point. She calls my name and I sit down at the table she’s at. She says once you get the info you don’t just keep standing next to him.

 

She asked me if I told he that she was too lazy to get up? I told her no. She was like you need to do your research, do you know who he is. I say yes. I keep the conversation light just asking a few friendly questions trying to get to know who she was. I get quiet for a moment. She say’s do you have any questions! And gets up and moves away from the table…

 

Then she comes back like well… do you have any questions? Then she says she can’t hear and come on. She abruptly gets up rushes out the door. I’m still so befuddled and get up and walk out as well. Then she went on this whole soliloquy saying I’ve been working in the entertainment business for 13 years and I worked with everybody from A-Z (She literally said that no name drops).

 

She continues and say’s men in this business either want to just make money with you or just “F you”. Then she went on for 2 minutes about that and then criticizes my outfit that I have on because the top that I had on shows my midriff but I had a jacket on over the top.

 

Then she went on this whole spill about how she bets PRs and stuff take advantage of me and how they under deliver the items they are supposed to do for me. Then she said and you want him to manage you and you don’t….

 

I Interrupted her and said hold up. Nobody said nothing about managing, I came for a simple greeting. Relationships take time, nothing happens overnight and honestly real relationships take about 2 years to develop.

 

Still, in an aggressive manner, she went on to say something about what he likes and asked did I have any questions and opened up the door to keep our relationship open. Then she says I’m leaving and left.
